Of all things, Louisiana is famed for siting Gators. The gators of Louisiana swamp are straight out of the books of folklore! They are omnipresent and potent. They appear anywhere, often serves as muses or pets and fills up Cajun kitchen as a tasty local ingredient.
Never before I had a chance to taste something I would be scared of otherwise, before I had a bite of gator pops in the Bourbon Street of New Orleans!
The three days we spent in New Orleans, we had ate plenty of gator bites, gator gumbo and other dish cooked to perfection.
We started in Morning. The swamp tour was supposed to start at 8 am.
It was November. Not the most ideal time for spotting these cold blooded animals as they prepare to hibernate to survive the long winter months.
Best time to see gators in Louisiana is the dry summer month. The spring babies take on the new wild world! They are everywhere, at the shoots of aqua flora, at the river banks, swimming along the water covered with a thick layer of moss. Their mothers lurking behind.
We saw a few mid sized youg adult gators. One was just 4 years old.
